Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to bring some of that fresh, uplifting energy into your home. Here are some tips for adding a touch of Spring to your space:

  1. Incorporate bright, cheerful colors: Swap out dark, heavy decor for lighter, brighter options. Think pastel throw pillows, colorful floral arrangements, or a bright new rug. This doesn’t have to break the bank either! Picking up a few pillow covers in different shades or designs can quickly and easily upgrade your space. I also love to change out my bedding for light and bright colors of the season.
  2. Bring in fresh flowers: Nothing says Spring quite like a bouquet of fresh flowers. Pick up a bunch of daffodils or tulips and display them in a vase on your kitchen table or dresser. Allergic? Me too. Try grabbing some lifelike faux plants at your local craft stores. There are some that look so real you’d have to touch them to know they’re not. You can also alternate with bowls or real or faux fruit. Lemons, oranges and the like give me sunshine vibes all day.
  3. Add natural elements: Incorporate natural elements like potted plants or woven baskets for a fresh, organic feel. This is the Pinnacle of spring decor. The natural wood tones really warm up a space and makes it cozy as well as uplifting. Even if your themed colors for your home are deep primary colors (read black, gray or white) an accent of natural wood softens it all up.
  4. Switch up your scents: Swap out heavier, wintery scents for lighter, fresher ones. Candles or diffusers with scents like lavender, lemon, or peppermint can help create a more uplifting atmosphere. I love to simmer cinnamon and apples on my stovetop to give a bit of scent to the air without being overpowering. The same works with any kind of citrus peel.
  5. Embrace natural light: Open up your curtains and let in as much natural light as possible. This will help create a bright, cheerful atmosphere. Much needed Vitamin D can beam in through your windows and give you the “pick-me-up” you needed.

By following these simple tips, you can bring the feeling of Spring into your home and create a more uplifting, happy mood.
