We plan, we research, have post it’s all over and then we hold off. Who are you holding off for? Did you happen to mention your plans to someone and they had nothing but negative things to say? Did it scare you? Well here are 5 different ways to mentally prepare yourself for your own little voice that neigh says your goals.

  1. Don’t be afraid to fail! It’s simple, you have to try. If you don’t, you’ll never know if you would have succeeded. Failure is part of the ride. It’s how you’ll learn what works and what doesn’t. Think of it as a badge of honor. Just don’t stop there.
  2. Keep your plans to yourself. It’s normal to want to share your excitement when you come up with a new idea. When you figure out just how to make something work, you’re overflowing with pride and you want to let the world know. DON’T. This is how dreams get stomped on & stolen. Think of it as the entrepreneurial sucker punch. No warning, just hit them with the wow.
  3. Stop “I’m gonna”-ing and just do it already. Make your thoughts an intentional plan. Dream yes, but make sure you work on how you’re going to make that dream come true. We all started with an idea, the difference lays with who followed it and who let it go.
  4. Surround yourself with people who are where you want to be. I don’t mean so that you can try to step into their shoes but so you can learn to rise just as they did. If you surround yourself with negative nelly’s who just sit around, that’s likely the same type of energy you’re going to develop. If you surround yourself with business minded people who always strive for more and know what it is to want to do better, you’ll see you’re attitude and thinking change for the better. Birds of a feather and all that.
  5. And finally, do something every day that improves on you, your goal, your business. EVERY. FREAKIN. DAY. Read a book and take notes. Take a class, online or on campus. Ask questions and note the answers. Find a Facebook group with likeminded people and participate! You get out what you put in so now is the time to make sure that you always do SOMETHING that gets you closer to that goal.

So there you have it. Simple yet impactful ways to get yourself back in the game. 2019 is coming like a freight train, make sure you’re ready. Make it the year of YOU!
