When in doubt, wing it. Easy how to..
When I was a little girl, I would watch my mother apply her makeup. I would stare in amazement just watching how she knew exactly what to put where and in such a way that she always looked glamorous to me. Though she was never big on mascara, she did always do one thing that stuck with me and I do to this day. The cat-eye wing! Yep, ever since I could put on makeup, which has been my go-to look. There are different variations of this look and it’s changed from time to time, but they were always there my trusty in-flight makeup besties.
What I do know is that the wing is also to some, the elusive unicorn that they can’t quite seem to acquire. It’s not like it’s impossible to teach or learn for that matter, but it does take patience.
Here’s a quick how-to for those of you who are anxious to learn.
- Take a piece of scotch tape (about an inch) and find the spot just under your lower lid angling it where you want your wing to be. Do this for both sides.
- With a liquid liner (my favorite), a gel liner and an angled brush, or even a pencil eyeliner, follow the line of the tape to the length of the desired wing.
- Follow the line of your upper lid to match the thickness of the wing you just drew.
- Allow to dry and carefully remove the tape.
- ¡Voila! You’re not a winged maven!
