Bride Emergency Kit – How to Put Together the Perfect Take Along
“What if’s” happen every day so what would make you think you’re wedding day is any different? Be ready with your own personal mini–Bride Emergency Kit! This is a small bag that fits in the palm of your hand and in that tiny bridal purse you couldn’t resist when you bought your dress.
Here are some things that you’re going to want to keep handy on your big day just in case, you know, what if?
- Hairspray
- clear nail polish
- safety pins
- tissue
- emery board
- mending kit (yep, actually had one bride have to use this)
- stain remover (cuz God forbid)
- deodorant towelette
- pain reliever
- tampon (again, God forbid)
- mints or breath freshener
- dental floss (pesky bagels)
- blotting tissue
- bobby pins
- antacid
- sanitizing wipes
- band aid
- compact mirror.
These are just the things that could be essential for any given wedding day, but you can cater yours to what you think you might need on your day. I know it seems like a lot, but because these aren’t full-sized products we’re talking about, it turns into a small handy bag. You can also entrust your maid of honor or mom to keep this bag for you and have it with her while you’re getting ready and to stash it for you at the head table just in case you need something later.
Think this is too much to remember on your own? What if you handed this off to your maid of honor so she can include one item request on each invitation to your shower? It could make for a fun game. The guests won’t know why they’re being asked to bring the item but when they arrive at your shower they’ll find out! Your maid of honor can have a sweet display set up for your guests to place the items and just after you open gifts, she can bring out the bag and thank each person for the item they brought and reveal WHY they brought it.
OR she can have each guest use the item requested as a bow INSTEAD of a bow. That way when you’re opening your gifts you know who the item is from, hand it to your maid of honor who will place it in the emergency kit bag. At the end of the gift opening, you explain what those items were for and thank each one for their contribution to ensuring your day goes off without a hitch!
